Stitch - my money's on the Mormon's. It's the fashion statement more than the sheer number of progeny that sways me.

booberry, you say this because you know that family? i was raised within perilous proximity to the LDS and their ways - a dad and step-father, though one was and one nearly was ex-communicated, and can spot 70s-80s mormon fashion a mile off. but i'll take your word for it.

Did anyone see the documentary on TLC about that family? All of the kids are homeschooled by the mom. The documentary was about the family building a new 7,000 sq ft house. Yes, that's a seven thousand.

You can find an old link to a story by going here.

i just imagine a Dr. Seussian contraption with 8 hair brushes attached so the mom can part all of the boys' hair in the same direction at the same time (except the 3rd oldest boy who is apparantly the nonconformist and parts his on the opposite side)

Nope, those aren't Mormons - however hard to believe that may be. These are the Duggars, and my personal belief is that they're a cult, although they claim to be some variety of Christian. And they've continued to multiply... I think they're up to 16 kids now? Maybe 17's on the way by now, though, who knows?
