Fish Tale

Nokia's ad men are either kicking themselves for not thinking up this gimmick themselves, or jumping for joy at what is a humorous, odd, true, and ultimately selling story. I believe it, having recently decided it was time to put my little Sprint phone through the wash. A friend admonished me for including it with the whites, but in any case, after a day and a half drying out from the heat of the oven's pilot light, it works just fine.

Somehow I don't think it would have survived an inadvertent forgotten pre-heat. Good on ya, all the same!

CH - I know, I was too lazy to leave my roommate a not telling her not to turn the oven on (though she never uses it), so I was 5% afeard it might get baked. I was so pissed at myself for the dousing in the first place, you'd think I would have taken greater care.

Huck - pretty cute.

Grant Miller - it's a black phone.

Ok, that's the strangest looking fish I have ever seen. But it looks happy though, doesn't it?

I dropped my Samsung into the hot tub once. The big enemy to electronics is rust. All of the water has to be eliminated from the phone withing a matter of hours or else the phone will begin to malfunction. Since the electronics are and parts are so small, water tension does a good job of holding droplets inside. Without taking it apart you would have to bake it at just the right temperature to evaporate the water but not damage the plastics. VERY HARD TO DO> I ended up taking mine apart and cleaning it very carefully and baking it as well - but it still malfunctioned. I took it to the Sprint store where I bought it and they gave me a new one. I was lucky that they had just fired all the cocky jockstraps behind the counter and replaced them with new people that still liked their new jobs and wanted to please the customers. I now have a headset when I am in the tub.
