In tiny letters, the name of the church includes "Apostatic." Maybe those of you with better knowledge out there can clue me into what that means (as well as the significance of the hyphen followin "Lord we..."). My understanding was that an apostate was someone who had abandonded his religious beliefs. But at this church, why would you?

Apostatic, well, I am unsure.
But the hyphen, well given what precedes it, the "J" looks very much like an upside-down bum, and at that point, the hyphen is just self-explanatory...
It could be Apostolic, ie. " of, relating to, or conforming to the teachings of the New Testament". The resolution of the picture is not good enough to get the best look, but I've seen many churches labeled as "Apostolic", especially in my church-a-block stomping ground in Lower Alabama. Still, the marquee below it does leave for some head-scratching.

Blow it up a little (the picture, not the church) and it's definitely "Apostolic". And since it's a Pentecostal Church, maybe "ANAL" is speaking in tongues for "ANNUAL". Or maybe they ran out of letters.
i'm quite sure the anal. stands for annual, but they seem to have Freudian slipped a little.

perhaps the sign was rearranged by a disgruntled parishioner or an adolescent prankster (Gee, I wouldn't know anything about THAT).
