It's a repetitive stress injury waiting to happen. No joke, there's actually a condition called "text thumb" now. It's a variant on carpal tunnel syndrome for those who lack the sense to put the damn phone down once in a while.

hck - not h8tn, mayB db8n.

seriously, i just wondered what the incentive was to put up a contest like that - who sponsored it? it's just plain odd.

also, i cannot discover the meaning of your last statement there, if there's any to be found.

ch - that's crazy, yo.

Hell, for $25,000 in prize money, I'd enter a text messaging contest. Of course I would fail miserably. I'm too much of a perfectionist to abbreviate that much.

My daughter can text while she is on-line (three different services) and carry on a conversation with a friend on the land line for like 6 hours at a time.
At some point I finally get really pissed, pull the plug and set her back onto her homework.
what I find really disturbing is when there is an issue that needsn an immediate answer or attention, and she sends out a text message tyo deal with it. Its the biggest waste of time and energy I have ever seen.
