Shabtai Zisel ben Avraham was born today in '41. I only mention it, because I like both kinds of music, Bob & Dylan. Many happy returns of the day, Mr. Zimmerman.
"...The kingdoms of Experience
In the precious wind they rot
While paupers change possessions
Each one wishing for what the other has got
And the princess and the prince
Discuss what's real and what is not
It doesn't matter inside the Gates of Eden
The foreign sun, it squints upon
A bed that is never mine
As friends and other strangers
From their fates try to resign
Leaving men wholly, totally free
To do anything they wish to do but die
And there are no trials inside the Gates of Eden
At dawn my lover comes to me
And tells me of her dreams
With no attempts to shovel the glimpse
Into the ditch of what each one means
At times I think there are no words
But these to tell what's true
And there are no truths outside the Gates of Eden"

Yea, heavy & a bottle of bread! I love Dylan, and plan to torture my poor wife by talking like him all this evening. I've got so many favorite Dylan lines, and my number one top favorite Dylan line tends to vary from day to day. For example, at this moment my top favorite Dylan line is "What's it to ya, Moby Dick? This is chicken town." I don't know how he came up with that, but it never fails to make me laugh. Never. Hi Kissyface!
I plan to leave the lyrics to "Maggie's Farm" on my computer's wallpaper when I quit my job. Oh, if only that could be today.
Happy birthday. To Bob Dylan. Not you.
no certainly not the birthday of the charm school mistress. most will recall that she'll remind us all of the impending date--much like last year. [emote tongue sticking out in hommage, of course.]
on a separate note, the second photo of bobby d looks a lot like the cover art to thievery corporation's "the cosmic game."
JTC - I don't have a birthday.
I HAD FORGOTTEN, BUT MY SUBCONCIOUS MUST BE KICKED IN...
MY POST TODAY IS TITLED
"104th DREAM"...
I think I should get full credit.
I do think he's a fabulous songwriter but I never really was into his voice. I always liked other people's covers..but he does have a distinctive sound!
