And Now a Word from Our Sponsor...

Brought to you by Staples, Toyota, Prudential, Jack in the Box, Budweiser, Starbucks and PepsiCo.

First, there was dinner, for a mere pittance of $7.50, you can break your vegetarian creed for cased meat in a bun. The worst ever, and I LOVE hot dogs. Should probably try to get that charge reversed. Naw, it was just poor judgement on my part.

You can't tell from the photo, but those dogs are about 18" long.

Then the curtain descends

the lights fall - a shroud of mystery

and KAPOW!

It's a LAKER GURL!

Lakers played the Clippers.

And the guy to my right was there to root for his team, and alienate most of the Staples Center.
Nice sneaks.

Despite his reputation for being intractable, Kobe bows down. Maybe he's thinking of Denver. I understand he gets quite a reception there.

These people look a bit like the denying monkeys stuck on "speak no evil," which is good in a tabloid town. They don't want to think about Denver. Hey! isn't that Michael Douglas two in from the left, looking like Grizzly Adams with that beard? Why, yes it is. And at the end, lovely Ellen Pompeo. Sorry it's such a blur.

Denzel came.
And Gentleman Jack (you can find him, if you'll just believe).

This guy's mad at Odom for leaving his favorite team for the Lakers. Frankly, myopic as I am, I thought the actual player's jersey read "Doom." My sportswriter friend (thanks so much for taking me!), said that's about how he's playing, so I don't see what the fuss is about.

Still, Kobe got his shots off, and the Lakers win 100-83.

I had a great time, and no idea what I'm talking about.

And so we say goodnight.

What was on those hot dogs? Didn't look like just ketchup and mustard...
Hey, chili and cheese make it all go down better...
You had freakin good seats. I have to wait till its a Clippers home game hosting the Lakers to see em in action.

You did pretty good for not knowing what you were talking about. I am impressed. My Grizzlies play the Clips on the 18th. That should be an interesting game as we are both vying for the same playoff spot.

Huck-
Sauerkraut! I do like "suckin' on chili dogs outside the Tastee Freeze..."
Yes, great seats! Helps to go with a member of the press, and an especially witty one at that.
The Clippers Fan to my right was SO excited. He jumped up every 30 seconds and did some Rockette maneuvers in the air, then he would laugh to himself and fall back down into his chair, rocking the entire row of seats. He was a big man. Everyone around was booing him, but I admired his persistance, even in his solitude, and the clownery.

GB - thanks for the props - I'm a good assimilator, even if my knowledge of sports is poor at best. Worst gaffe - at one point, I accidentally called the Lakers coach Phil Knight (Nike, ya know), and I do know the difference.
